Bellator fighter Cris Cyborg pondered upon a rematch with her former UFC rival Amanda Nunes. The former UFC and current Bellator women’s featherweight champion had to suffer from defeat in her only fight with her Brazilian counterpart at UFC 232. She has taken to social for Cyborg vs Nunes 2.

Cyborg and Nunes last fought in 2018. And since then, the Bellator champion has been asking for an opportunity to get a rematch. Cyborg lost her only match to ‘The Lioness’ via a knockout in the first round. The fight saw Cyborg start strong, but she eventually fell to a right hook from Nunes, which prompted the referee to stop the bout. The current Bellator women’s featherweight champion appeared in an interview with TMZ’ last year, where she talked about Amanda Nunes.

Cris Cyborg was asked about a possible rematch with the current UFC women’s featherweight champion. She said, “Yes, of course [rematch with Nunes]. In the beginning after the loss, I said ‘man, I want a rematch.” However, Cyborg also mentioned that both fighters were not in the position to make that happen and hopes that it will work out in the future.

Cris Cyborg tweets about Cyborg vs Nunes 2

Cris Cyborg has made it clear that she has unfinished business with her Brazilian counterpart. Nunes is the only fighter in the UFC to have handed the current Bellator champion a loss in Dana White‘s promotion. ‘Women’s MMA Rankings’ shared a tweet regarding the cancellation of Amanda Nunes‘ fight against Irene Aldana. ‘The Lioness’ now wants to fight Julianna Pena. However, Cyborg replied to that tweet and suggested a match of her own. She wrote, “CyborgVsNunes2.”

The Curitiba native had a rather lackluster showing at UFC 232 against Nunes after getting dropped in just 51 seconds. However, Cris Cyborg claims that the loss had a rather positive impact on her as she went on to join Bellator and dominate the women’s featherweight division. However, she still seems adamant about getting a rematch even after almost four years since their only match.
