The entire arena was excited for Marcin Tybura’s and Tom Aspinall’s final fight at UFC Fight Night 224. However, that wasn’t the only attraction. There were interesting rivalries being played out on the sidelines. The war between Liverpool’s own Molly McCann and the Lithuanian flyweight submission queen, Julija Stoliarenko, was one such fight. The crowd was excited for the home girl, Molly, but sadly there was not much for them to cheer about. Stoliarenko defeated ‘Meatball’ with a fast finish by armbar in the very first round.

While ‘Meatball’ was picked as the fan favorite, it was the underdog’s night to claim a victory. The world of mixed martial arts was disappointed with the outcome and expressed itself on social media.
