Tom Aspinall has lately been doing the rounds on the internet after he went on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour Show. This also brought up the questions about him fighting Ciryl Gane. So, has Gane been ducking Aspinall? At least that’s what the English fighter said about Gane.

Gane is a heavyweight mainstay and has gone up against the likes of Jon Jones in the past. Aspinall has been on the rise too, does this mean a match between the two is pretty much inevitable? Here’s more on Aspinall’s accusations and Gane’s response to them.

Ciryl Gane responds to Tom Aspinall’s duck talk

Tom Aspinall went on The MMA Hour show and said that he’s not the first guy that Ciryl Gane has ducked. “The reason that I got the Pavlovich fight is cause Ciryl didn’t want it. So he ducked Pavlovich.” Said Aspinall while also saying that Gane also ducked out Curtis Blaydes.

Now, Ciryl Gane responded in an X post saying “.@AspinallMMA, I never, ever say no to any challenge or any opponent. Blaydes was never an option. They said Pavlovich, I said yes. Don’t worry, I’ll see you in September, stop tripping @Mickmaynard2 @danawhite.

Do you think the two giants will clash? Tom Aspinall was also called out by Curtis Blaydes but the English fighter has previously lost to Blaydes too back in 2022 but it wasn’t a clear loss because that’s the fight where Aspinall injured his knee.

Now, Aspinall has been calling out heavyweight crown Jon Jones but it looks like Gane might be the fight he would have to win before he could fight ‘Bones’. A timeline where Jones fights Stipe Miocic and Gane fights Aspinall is hence established. But could Aspinall ever fight Jones directly?

Tom Aspinall also spoke about his Jon Jones encounter on The MMA Hour Show. He revealed that when he was doing meet and greets alongside Jones, he wanted to go and say hi. However, Jones’ manager did not want him to do that.

Later, ‘Bones’ would refuse to take a faceoff picture with Aspinall as well. Jones has mentioned that he could beat both, Miocic and Aspinall but he’d rather fight Miocic first and then decide on his next fight. Let’s not forget, he was teasing retirement ahead of his injury.

So, as Gane and Aspinall go against each other, there’s a good chance ‘Bones’ retires from competition and then, perhaps Aspinall would have to fight yet another contender for the vacant belt. What are your thoughts about this storyline? Is something off? Let us know in the comments.
