Israel Adesanya has angered the fans with a recent tweet. The UFC middleweight champion managed to receive the ire of a section of fans after an insensitive tweet about a missing teen. Adesanya had shared a message of concern about the same teenager earlier. However, his response to a different post about the same was a snide remark jibing at the social trends that landed him in trouble. Adesanya’s cynical remark about the situation did not sit well with many fans who responded in a strong fashion.
18-year-old Cameron Robbins was in the news after he went overboard on a cruise ship near the Bahamas. Per reports, Robbins was celebrating his graduation from the University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The 18-year-old and his friends took a trip to the Bahamas onboard ‘Blackbeard’s Revenge’ to celebrate their graduation, reports The Independent.
A clip that surfaced later shows Robbins swimming in the dark water before disappearing. Reports also state that he jumped off the ship on a dare. It was this ‘dare’ culture of the modern age that Adesanya had an issue with.

Fans react to Israel Adesanya over cynical comment on teenager’s disappearance
In a recent tweet, Israel Adesanya responded to a tweet about the missing teenager and wrote, “It’s a prank bro” era. #darwinism” While ‘Stylebender’ may have meant well, a large section of the fans felt his comment was uncalled for. They wanted their champion to be more empathetic toward the grief of the teenager’s near and dear ones.
Recent reports also stated that the search for the Robbins had been called off. With many assuming the teenager to have passed away, one fan criticized Adesanya for mocking him.
Damn, Izzy. Bad idea for the young guy but surprised you’d care enough to mock him when he’s already met his ultimate fate.

Some other fans said the boy had a family and that Adesanya’s taught him better.
Bad look and take my guy. He has a family and yours taught you better. Especially being from Nija, I know they did.

Be mindful of his grieving family, homie.

One fan said behavior like this is why people root against him in fights like the ones against Alex Pereira.
18 year old kid is dead yet izzy thinks he can take the piss out of the situation. This guy wonders why UFC fans wanted Pereira to flat line him. pic.twitter.com/XqSwSC9CRr

Another fan pointed out the irony of the situation.
And you risk your life every time you step in the octagon so.. #darwinism

More comments came in harshly criticizing the champion for his complete lack of sensitivity and class.
