“Damn That Was Quick Work” – Tragic End to Alexander Gustafsson’s Comeback Fight Leaves Fans Heartbroken

Alexander Gustafsson returned to fighting after a two-year hiatus on the main card of UFC Fight Night inside the O2 Arena, London, England today. However, his return was spoiled by Nikita Krylov, a Ukrainian MMA fighter.

The former three-time UFC light heavyweight title challenger came into the fight with a three-fight skid. Meanwhile, Krylov was on a two-fight skid before this slugfest.  

However, now he has bounced back into the win column with a fantastic win over the MMA veteran. The Ukrainian opened up the bout with a strong takedown and finished the fight quickly. He left no room for the Swedish fighter to retaliate and handed him a devastating loss in his return.

Gustafsson has competed against some of the most well-known fighters throughout his career, including Glover Teixeira, Daniel Cormier, and Jon Jones.

The Swedish fighter has also participated in some of the most incredible fights in UFC history, including his initial encounter with Jones, which is still talked about by fans.

However, despite his experience in the light heavyweight division, Gustafsson failed to defeat the 11th ranked fighter. Now after this, the 35-year-old holds a professional fighting record of 18-8 under his name. And is running on a four-fight skid. Hence, it will be interesting to see what he does next in his UFC career.

Meanwhile, Krylov improved his professional MMA record to 28-9. After such a dominant win, it will be exciting to see who he faces next from the division.
