Many believe the rise of British UFC lightweight fighter Paddy Pimblett is very similar to that of former two-division champion Conor McGregor. However, British MMA legend Dan Hardy believes ‘The Baddy’ could actually be bigger than the Irish superstar.

In the recent episode of the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani and former UFC title challenger Hardy discussed the recent UFC Fight Night event in London. During their conversation, ‘The Outlaw’ made high claims about Pimblett.
“He’s (Paddy Pimblett) in a very strong position where he could become something way more than Conor McGregor. And I know that’s a difficult thing for us to imagine,” Hardy said.
“But we couldn’t have imagined Conor McGregor until he stepped out of Cage Warriors. Absolutely… Conor’s not as easy to gravitate towards as he used to be…” he added.
Hardy also stated that McGregor’s antics outside the UFC cage have damaged his reputation recently. He thinks that since Pimblett might not go to the same course as McGregor, people will follow him to a much longer degree.
“Now that he’s living on yachts, I think he’s quite estranged from his fan base… But I think people will follow Paddy to a much longer degree than they have done Conor because I don’t think Paddy’s going to fall off in the same way that Conor did and find himself in handcuffs,” Hardy concluded.
Drake promises to gift Paddy Pimblett a Rolex watch
Paddy Pimblett vs. Jordan Leavitt was one of the matches that fans were most looking forward to at the UFC Fight Night event in London last weekend. Even the multi-millionaire rapper Drake tuned in to watch the match.
Before the event, the Canadian-born rapper had predicted victories for Pimblett and his close friend Molly McCann, who was competing on the same card.
