Jon Jones sparked various speculations after his statements about wanting “f*** you money” to fight the younger interim champion, Tom Aspinall. Among the many rumors that have surfaced online about the possible payout demand from ‘Bones’, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan appeared convinced about the rumor that said the ask was $30 million. However, the 57-year-old seems to have taken back his words.

On New Year’s Eve, Joe Rogan dropped a JRE episode that had fellow comedians Chris Distefano and Yannis Pappas, discussing the potential cheque that Jon Jones could walk away if he fights his English counterpart. That’s when he brought up the $30 million rumor, which he claims wasn’t true at all in a recent episode featuring another fellow comedian, Theo Von.

“I have to correct something because there was a conversation I had with Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano. We were talking about Jon Jones,” Joe Rogan stated on the #2253 JRE episode“I heard a rumor that Jon Jones wanted $30 million to fight Tom Aspinall. I did hear that rumor and I did hear that the UFC said yes, but it is not true.”

While failing to recall the source of that rumor, the multi-million-dollar podcast host would also claim that Dana White would ring him up when he saw his claims on the podcast. He’d brief Joe Rogan about the situation thereafter and dismiss those speculations. “Dana contacted me, said that rumor is bullsh*t. So I felt obligated to tell everybody that was a fake rumor… [But] I don’t remember who told me that,” the 57-year-old added.

Meanwhile, Joe Rogan’s $30 million claim has also sparked discussions in the MMA community. As such, a former UFC champion appeared critical of that 8-figure sum demand and issued a response to the podcast before he issued the aforementioned clarification.

UFC legend refuted Joe Rogan’s claims before he backtracked on it

Perhaps the biggest draw in Dana White’s promotion’s history is Conor McGregor, and Daniel Cormier believes that even the Irishman didn’t make $30 million for one fight in the UFC, which is surprising because he has the biggest fight in UFC history to his name. Similarly, DC believes it is too big to ask Dana White to agree because Jon Jones will have to do something big for the boss to splash the cash.

“the largest pay-per-view of all time is 2 million pay-per-views, two and a half for Khabib and Conor. There’s no way you get to 30 million,” Daniel Cormier stated on the ‘Good Guy/Bad Guy’ show. “But hey, if you ask for 30 and you get 15, when you probably got eight—hey, that’s a good day. Or you get to 20—that’s a good day. I don’t believe he gets to 30 million.”

We are in 2025 now and the general understanding between the fans and Dana White is that a title unification fight is going to happen soon. But how long do we wait for that heavyweight clash of the ages? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
