Thompson said, “I feel like they’re going to do right by me. Things are still in talks. I think they’re waiting for Dana White to come back from his vacation, and we’ll go from there… I will be disappointed [If I’m not paid].” When fans came across his current situation, the majority of them warned him about how the promotion never cares about the fighters and is often unprofessional when it comes to fighters’ pay.

Fans react to ‘Wonderboy’s current situation

Most of the fans felt that waiting for Dana White was not necessary as ‘Wonderboy’ had already gone through all the obligations. A fan even went on to suggest that the UFC should make some changes to their method of paying fighters. Meanwhile, one fan strongly believed that Dana White would not care about paying him. To prove his point, the fan gave the example of how White treated Anderson Silva.

  • “The fact that they have to wait for Dana to come back is an absolute joke. He made weight he did what he had to do, his opponent failed.”
  • “Just another mis step by the UFC where there shouldn’t be one. It should be in the contract that if you show up and make weight you get paid. Regardless of what happens with your opponent. This “wait for Dana white” is BS.”
  • “Be prepared to be disappointed @wonderboymma Dana doesn’t give two sh*ts about what you guys have done. Look at how he treated Anderson at the back end of his career. Fed him to lions, then let him walk. Didn’t give him the gratitude he deserved for carrying this sport to what it has become now as the greatest champion ever.”
  • “UFC and Dana don’t care”

More fans reiterated that there was no mistake with Thompson and that he deserved to get paid. Also, ‘Wonderboy’ has a clean record of making weight all the time before his fight. It was Pereira who missed the weight, and according to some fans, it is only he who should face the consequences.

  • “If he doesn’t get payed boycott Perreira.”
  • “Guy is way too nice. If they don’t pay him we riot!”
  • “Couldn’t of put it any better. UFC pay this man.”

  • Wonderboy backed out of the fight. I’m assuming he won’t get anything. 3lbs is that much of difference?
