Aljamain Sterling believes he deserves a rematch like Israel Adesanya

The former UFC bantamweight champion has a pretty solid MMA record. He has 23 wins and 4 losses to his name and successfully defended his title three times before losing it to Sean O’Malley. He had been a champion for over two years and believes that it qualifies him to get a rematch for the bantamweight title.

UFC fans, in a post on Reddit, gave Aljamain Sterling a reminder regarding his urge for a rematch for the bantamweight title. They believe that, unlike Israel Adesanya, he may not get the ‘Dana White privilege’.

  • Aljo aint gonna be getting the dana white privilege that’s for sure…

Moreover, they believe that Sterling is aware of the fact that he may not fare well in the featherweight division. That’s why he wants to fight Sean O’Malley again. Some fans even stated that the UFC CEO doesn’t want to see ‘Funk Master’ as the champion.

  • aljo knows he gets torn the f*** up at 145. he’s not going out on a loss
  • Dana doesn’t want aljo as a champion though

The fact that Aljamain Sterling does not sell as many pay-per-views as Israel Adesanya could also be a factor in Dana White’s hesitance to give him a rematch. The fans don’t even want to see him fight ‘Suga’ again since they are not in favor of immediate rematches.

  • Sterling does not sell PPV . Dana does not like fighters like him.
  • Aljo needs to go away. Nobody want to see the Izzy rematch but nobody really wants to see Aljo rematch.
  • Words can’t describe how much I despise immediate rematches

Fans are still not sure what Sterling’s next step could be. He is pushing for a rematch but also stated earlier that he could jump to the featherweight division. His primary aim is to become a double champion, and by the looks of it, he may not be done with the bantamweight division. What are your thoughts regarding this situation? Drop your comments below.
