Renato “Money” Moicano has seemed to hit his stride. Moicano took a short-notice fight against Brad Ridell at UFC 281 then proceeded to make him submit in impressive fashion in the first round. His post-fight speech to Joe Rogan also drew attention to the Brazilian.

Now, the #13 ranked lightweight will be looking to take this momentum into his next fight as he announced that he has re-signed with the UFC. The details of this extension remain unknown, but he is reportedly going to fight #15 ranked Drew Dober in February next year.

Renato Moicano announced he had re-signed with the UFC in a recent post on his Twitter. “UFC Contract Signed: Who’s my next opponent?” he tweeted. In a video with the tweet, he said that he would face Drew Dober at UFC Fight Night Vegas 85 on February 3, 2024.

Renato Moicano and Drew Dober both have an exciting, push-the-pace style of fighting which will make for an excellent stylistic matchup. If both men choose to stand and fight, it is unlikely to go to the judges’ scorecard. Meanwhile, wrestling Dober may also be a more prudent approach for the Brazilian to take.

Their fight will serve as the co-main event for the Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov middleweight clash at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Moicano will fight Dober after over a year’s inactivity as he was forced to pull out of his scheduled bout against Arman Tsarukyan in April this year.

And fans are excited for the two lightweights to take each other on.

Hi, I am Kanishk and I am a UFC Writer at EssentiallySports. I love telling the stories of these magnificent fighters and this wildly unpredictable sport that is so frustrating and yet so joyous at the same time. I never really used to watch MMA, thinking it too crude or brutal a sport to deserve respect.
