Dana White Announces Fight for Paddy Pimblett but Manager Denies the Booking

Ever since his UFC debut, the former Cage Warriors fighter Paddy Pimblett is the talk of the town. He made his debut in September last year and fans have been waiting to see him return to action.

However, it seems like the wait is over for the fans as UFC president Dana White has verbally announced a fight for the fighter. In a recent interaction with Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports, White announced Pimblett’s next opponent.

According to White, Pimblett will face the lightweight contender Jared Gordon at a UFC event that will take place in London on 19th March 2022. This will be the promotion’s first event in the 02 Arena after three years.

However, moments after the news broke out, Pimblett’s manager took to social media and denied any such fight. In the comments, he wrote, “we haven’t agreed this and still discussing opponents.”

Later, Gordon’s manager also denied the news by commenting on the post. He wrote, “We have heard nothing on our end.”

‘The Baddy’ is a surging prospect of UFC. He has a massive fan base in England and if this fight comes to fruition, it will largely benefit the promotion. Hence, the fight has some possibility. Also, both the fighters have previously teased a fight.

The former Cage Warriors champion has an amazing professional fighting career of 17-3 under his name. He is currently on a three-fight undefeated streak. He impressed UFC fans by securing a stunning first-round finish in his debut at UFC Fight Night 191.

‘The Baddy’ faced Luigi Vendramini in his UFC debut on 4th September 2021. The latter was fresh from his previous loss. Meanwhile, the Englishman was unbeaten in his previous two fights at Cage Warriors.

Pimblett has a massive fan base and had all eyes on him during the event. Interestingly, the 27-year-old mixed martial artist delivered what fans expected from him.

‘The Baddy’ looked confident in the fight from the first bell. However, there were moments where ‘The Italian Stallion’ caught the Englishman with some vicious jabs. However, Pimblett bounced back quickly.

Vendramini landed a good takedown and took Pimblett to the mat in the second minute. However. he couldn’t do much damage to the debutant. Later, with 40 seconds remaining in the first round, ‘The Baddy’ went all guns out and landed a barrage of punches that forced the referee to jump in and stop the fight.
