As if the revelation of the UFC 304 poster wasn’t enough, Dana White has come forward with yet another fight announcement. It was an answer to Joaquin Buckley’s request for a fight in his hometown. White heard it and rewarded him with a fight against one of the most feared fighters in the welterweight division, Nursulton Ruziboev

During the UFC 300 press conference, Buckley hijacked the microphone and told White that he was ready to fight anybody. All that he needed was a fight at UFC St. Louis. Impressed with his hunger for action, the UFC CEO took to Instagram and responded, “And as I’ve said many times, I love guys that are hungry, willing to fight anybody and asking for fights. That is Joaquin Buckley. And he is gonna be taking on the very aggressive Nursulton Ruziboev.”

It is an exciting matchup, especially given that Ruziboev has a dangerous reputation. He is currently rocking a 10-fight win streak and he finished all of them. His striking prowess is superior to many, and when he pushes the pace and comes forward, his opponents can seldom escape the intimidation. Buckley is also athletic, with an 8-fight win streak. However, the matchup against the Uzbek warrior has garnered quite a lot of attention from the MMA world.

Fans express their worry as Dana White announces Buckley’s next fight

As soon as the video hit the social media platform, the fans took over the comments section. While the majority of them showed their support for Ruziboev with the Uzbek flag in the comments, many others thought of it as the end of Buckley’s winning streak. “Well thats the end of Buckleys formidable run”, wrote one fan.

Furthermore, many fans exuded respect for ‘New Mansa’, for taking up the fight against someone with such intimidating records. “Buckley wild for accepting this, 6’5 giant who fights at a higher weight class who’s not even ranked my goodness the balls on Buckley must be massive, No Diddy”, one fan commented.

While another comment read, “Wow, Buckley is such a stud for taking this fight he just beat Luque he could sit on his ranking but no he’s fighting on 6’5 killer who’s unranked…. If I was his manager I’d be saying WHY R YOU TAKING THIS FIGHT but respect.”

The fans were indeed happy for the American warrior getting a fight. They were seemingly impressed with how Buckley “Spoke it into existence.” Nevertheless, the rest of the community agreed that the fight was in fact one of the good matchups.
