Dana White Discloses Closed Door Conversation With Returning Female UFC Star Tatiana Suarez That Made Him Realize Ex TUF Winner’s Potential

The president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Dana White, takes immense pride in the fights and the fighters in his promotion. Not only does he enjoy spectating the battles but also builds them up by promoting them. With the kind of performance shown by the contenders in the UFC Fight Night 220, Tatiana Suarez received praise from the UFC president during the UFC Vegas 70 post-fight press conference.

Suarez got back inside the Octagon after a break of four years. Surprisingly, she made up for the lost time with an incredible win in the UFC Vegas 70. Her dominance inside the cage apparently hasn’t faded in her years of absence. After her commendable victory over Montana De La Rosa with a submission in the second round, White pulled the former TUF winner into his room and talked about her game plan. Without a doubt, the words uttered by the flyweight warrior impressed White.

Suarez’s victory over De La Rosa secured her place in the fans’ hearts. Even the UFC boss seemed impressed with her performance. At the post-fight press conference, White revealed his belief that Suarez was indeed “one of the best in the world.” He commented on the fact that her return was greatly hyped, and she delivered up to the fans’ expectations. A lot of people were excited to see her, you know. See how she was going to handle, you know, adversity again, and, and she came out looking awesome”, said White.

Furthermore, the UFC president shared that the performance intrigued him, especially when she was on De La Rosa’s back. He pulled her into his room after the fight and asked her about what she was thinking. Without a doubt, the reply impressed the UFC boss.

White said, “I mean, I pulled her back into my room after the fight and… You guys remember when she was on her back? She was on De La Rosa’s back and literally didn’t even put her hooks in, and De La Rosa was bent over. And it was almost like she was staying in the same position like her hooks were in. I was like, ‘what the f**k was that? What were you doing?’ And she broke it down, telling me what she was doing. She’s just incredibly talented.”

Suarez injured her knee before her fight with Roxanne Modafferi and had to pull out. Although her return was anticipated by many, the American mixed martial artist couldn’t make it happen any time sooner. She revealed she had to relearn how to walk.

Suarez said, “I had to be off crutches for 8-10 weeks, so I had to relearn how to walk, (and) run. It was crazy.” Without a doubt, the TUF 23 winner received support from the fans. However, her latest victory etched her name in every fan’s mind.
