Dana White‘s latest fight announcement for UFC 300 is sure to please Chinese MMA fans. As the UFC’s three-hundredth pay-per-view event inches closer, White has been announcing fights for the already exciting card. The UFC boss took to his Instagram account and announced another banger for the upcoming anniversary mega event.

UFC Women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili will face #2 ranked Yan Xiaonan on the April 13 card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Incidentally, both fighters hail from China, making this the first title fight in UFC history featuring two Chinese fighters. While many fans felt let down by the announcement, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping was all praises for the UFC boss for making the fight and doing the announcement justice.

Former UFC champion Michael Bisping reacted to the Weili-Xiaonan strawweight title fight being announced by the UFC CEO in a video on his YouTube channel. The former middleweight champion was very excited to see the two Chinese fighters face each other and felt it was a good addition to the mega card.

“Dana White took to Instagram… and the latest one that he announced was a title fight for UFC 300 and it is Yan Xiaonan taking on Zhang Weili for the strawweight title in an all-out Chinese Affair,” Bisping said.

This fight will be fantastic and it will add to an already [stacked] fight card. UFC 300 is shaping up nicely, but Dana never said it’s the main event. That’s an incredible card, I mean Dana hyped it up perfectly himself,” he added.

The UFC commentator commended Dana White for doing a very good job of hyping up the fight and played White’s announcement, where he emphasized the historical nature of the bout. Along with this, the UFC boss listed Zhang’s impressive achievements, including how her last fight was statistically the most dominant win in UFC history.

He also mentioned how she was involved in perhaps the greatest fight ever in the promotion versus Joanna Jędrzejczyk. ‘Magnum’s upcoming bout against Xiaonan is expected to be an intriguing affair and joins other interesting matchups for the UFC 300 century card.

Although Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan is the first title fight to be announced for UFC 300, it will probably not be the last. UFC welterweight Leon Edwards has recently revealed that he would be defending his title (most likely against Belal Muhammad) on the April card. As of now, four other fights have been confirmed for UFC 300, including a lightweight title eliminator between #4 ranked Arman Tsarukyan and former champion Charles Oliveira.

Former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka will look to move beyond his loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 295 and put in a dominant performance against Aleksandar Rakic. Another former champion, Aljamain Sterling will make his 145 lbs debut against Calvin Kattar after losing his bantamweight title to Sean O’Malley in August last year.

More announcements are expected soon from the UFC including the main event, which fans are expecting to knock their socks off based based upon the headline bouts for UFC 100 and UFC 200.
