Claiming that Joe Rogan is an irreplaceable figure in the UFC would be a major understatement. The man’s one of the longest-tenured people in the promotion and shares a very close bond with the CEO, Dana White, having known him for more than two decades. Over the years, the 55-year-old has come to know Rogan on a very personal note and recently revealed what makes Rogan an extraordinary individual.

Just a day after the grand success that was UFC 306, Dana White made a podcast appearance on the ‘YMH Studios’. The host, Tom Segura, was joined by one of Joe Rogan’s comedian friends, Bert Krischer, as the co-host, who’d prompt Dana White to make a confession about the longtime UFC commentator.

So what makes Joe Rogan a genius to the UFC head honcho?

Whenever Dana White is around, people just cannot resist asking for his opinion concerning Joe Rogan. People have even mistaken his identity with the UFC commentator in the past, either due to a resemblance in their looks or because of their association with the world’s premiere MMA promotion. Bert Kreischer, meanwhile, would give his take on Rogan, calling him a “moron” because of his tendency to bring up topics that people don’t really talk about, but that’s why the UFC CEO claimed that he was a “genius.”

“What makes Joe Rogan a genius is that Rogan comes up with this sh-t that you’re like, ‘Wow! I never really f—ing thought about that.’ He thinks about sh-t that [is deep],” Dana White stated on the ‘YMH Studios’. That would prompt Bert Kreischer to praise Joe Rogan’s curious nature and knack for wanting to learn new things.

“He’s the sweetest guy in the world, and he’s very curious. He’s one of the most curious guys,” Joe Rogan’s friend added. However, the curious nature of Joe Rogan isn’t the only reason why Dana White loves Joe Rogan. Rather the growth of UFC promotion is another reason why the UFC CEO respects him deeply and this might be the most vital one too.

The UFC CEO once credited Joe Rogan for his promotion’s rise to mainstream

From almost getting erased out of existence to completing 30 years, the UFC has definitely witnessed a lot of ups and downs. It was even deemed as “human cockfighting” and fans of Dana White’s promotion vividly remember this term. However, Joe Rogan, having a background in martial arts, never ceased to talk about the complete aspect of fighting that the UFC offers to combat sports fans. The president-turned-CEO of the promotion definitely appreciates Rogan’s efforts and rightfully praised him when he chatted with veteran boxing coach Teddy Atlas a couple of years ago.

“Another guy who deserves a ton of credit for helping build this sport… is Joe Rogan. Because the reality is that when we got into this, you know everybody understood stand-up fighting, no matter what happens, punching, kicking, elbows, we all get that,” Dana White told Teddy Atlas in December 2021. As a matter of fact, the UFC CEO has never shared any negative words about his longtime employee, who transitioned from a backstage interview to a commentator on White’s request.
