Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier have been itching to fight each other for some time now, and Dana White finally has an update.

The former interim UFC lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, last entered the octagon at UFC 269. ‘The Diamond’ took on Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title. After making a strong start and dominating the first round, Poirier lost control of the fight. ‘Do Bronx’ used his superior grappling to turn the tide, and submitted his opponent in the third round.

Recently, UFC President Dana White, in an interview, talked about the potential fight. He said, “Yeah, you know, it’s a fight that they both want. It’s one that we’re interested in and we just gotta figure out. I don’t know if that’s the fight, by the time we’re ready, but I mean, like I said, we’ve got fights made all the way up until May 21st right now. So yeah, we’re interested.”

This is a fight that the fans want to see and is sure to break a few PPV records. The MMA community loves both fighters and with just one fight left on Diaz’s contract, it will be a huge payday for both.
