Sharaputdin Magomedov’s UFC debut was highly intriguing for the fans due to issues with his eyesight. Magomedov competes with compromised vision in one eye, which makes his striking prowess even more surprising as the disadvantage does not seem to impair his performance inside the cage.

In the caption for his Instagram post, Magomedov expressed eagerness to face Marvin Vettori in the UFC. He suggested that they could draw large crowds and provide entertainment for the fans.

Magomedov shared, “I crave to share the cage with you. We can fill the stadiums and give people bread and circuses. I have no doubts in your fighting skills and spirit, but I didn’t come out of music school. I ask the organization UFC to give me a chance to fight and I will show everything that I can.”

However, Vettori has faced formidable opponents throughout his UFC career, but he has also recently acknowledged the need to work hard after a loss against Jared Cannonier in June 2023.

On the other hand,  Magomedov is eager to progress and take on more challenging opponents, demonstrating his enthusiasm for the next level of competition in the UFC. The interaction between the two underscores the new developments in the middleweight division that may lead to title-shot implications for the fighters.

Despite ‘Bullet’ and his undefeated record posing a significant challenge, Vettori has recently revealed that he has found an unlikely source of inspiration in his career!

Marvin Vettori reveals he was inspired by Sean Strickland

Marvin Vettori and Sean Strickland, despite their playful banter, share a mutual respect, with Vettori acknowledging Strickland’s champion status. At UFC 293, Strickland shut down Israel Adesanya completely in a performance that saw him secure the UFC middleweight championship in a stunning upset. And Vettori has found his former training partner’s accomplishment as an inspiration despite his goal of eventually taking the title for himself.

Despite their friendly rivalry, Vettori expressed genuine delight for Strickland’s success, emphasizing their years of training together. He acknowledged “He did it, even though he’s crazy. He made it happen, so everything is possible. (I’m) happy for him, even though one day I’ll take that spot for sure.”

Reflecting on Strickland’s victory over Israel Adesanya at UFC 293, Vettori admits he wasn’t surprised but didn’t anticipate it would be as easy for Strickland. He highlights Strickland’s unique approach to cutting off space, noting that understanding it requires firsthand experience through sparring.

It remains to be seen if the UFC and CEO Dana White will consider matching up Magomedov and Vettori for a fight soon. Fans eagerly await the next development in the story between the two.
