“I started at 540 pounds. I’m 357 pounds this morning, baby. I’m going to lose another 100 pounds and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden, baby,” a positively beaming Jelly Roll told Pat McAfee on his live show earlier last month. Usually, talking about people’s physical appearance is not considered polite. But the ESPN former NFL kicker host couldn’t help but remark how the American singer, songwriter, and rapper looked like “he lost a person”, so dramatic was his weight loss.
While 357 pounds may still be considered morbidly obese and puts one at risk of sundry health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc., Jelly Roll isn’t done yet. In fact, he won’t be done until he gets to around 250 pounds, where his health concerns would be dramatically reduced.
Enter UFC CEO Dana White, who in 2022 found himself in a similar situation with his weight over 300 pounds. The head honcho turned around his health and went from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high risk of diabetes to the epitome of fitness. It is natural that the Bossman was joyful at the musician’s weight loss and took to social media to commend him for it. “Keep kickin A– [Jelly Roll],” White wrote on his Instagram Story.

There is another common factor in Jelly Roll and Dana White’s health turn-around, since Gary Brecka of 10X Health, whom the UFC CEO credits with his transformation also worked with the musician to help him lose weight. But how exactly did he lose all that weight?

Jelly Roll explains how he lost nearly two hundred pounds
Of course, whenever a celebrity loses weight these days, their transformation is credited to the Type-2 Diabetes drug, Semaglutide, which you may know from its more popular brand name, ‘Ozempic.’ While the prescription is meant only for patients with diabetes, its weight loss properties have seen it become a shortcut for those wanting to lose weight. However, that is not the road Jelly Roll took. The songwriter lost the weight the hard way. Through diet and exercise!

“I’ve been really kicking a-s, man. I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I’m eating healthy right now,” he told ‘People’ in a recent interview. In addition, the ‘Save Me’ singer has claimed that he made dramatic changes in his diet, and has started eating much, much healthier than the high-calorie, fast food slop he was on before.
He has hired a personal nutritionist and has started eating a high-protein diet to make sure he has the energy his massive frame requires while also losing weight since he is avoiding carbs and fats as much as he can. And the results are clear for everyone to see. Here’s hoping the next hundred pounds Jelly Roll wants to lose are easier than the last one hundred, and he can go skydiving with his wife soon. What do you think about Dana White’s reaction to Jelly Roll’s massive weight loss?
