The UFC, and especially their President Dana White, have been involved in a controversy with the Cameroonian ever since he became a champion last year. The root cause of the controversy was fighter pay, and Ngannou wasn’t willing to back down from his stance.

However, after Ngannou’s successful title defense against his former sparring partner, Ciryl Gane, the UFC seems to be heading towards a compromise. And even White himself is willing to get together with ‘The Predator’.

“He’s been in Cameroon, visiting his family. So, uh, he’s supposed to get back here in the next couple of weeks and we are supposed to get together,” White told ESPN.

“Listen, in the history of this company, the only guy that we’ve ever not signed was Fedor[Emelianenko], okay. I mean, it’s the only guy we could never sign. So, you know, I am hopeful and confident that we can get a deal done with Francis [Ngannou],” White continued.

The most crucial point amid these escalations and compromises seems to be the plausible boxing bout between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. As ‘The Gypsy King’ is all game for the fight and Ngannou too wants it just as badly. So, the champion may have already sidelined the UFC contract. But White thinks otherwise.

Dana White thinks Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou is a bad idea

A boxing bout with one of the most celebratory and legendary pugilists in the world might be the perfect fight for Francis Ngannou, win or lose. Being someone who has seen poverty, to now feeling sidestepped because of low pay. A Tyson Fury bout promises Ngannou everything he is wishing for.

However, UFC President Dana White believes it is a really bad idea for ‘The Predator’ to go up against ‘The Gypsy King’, that too in his home turf, boxing. “It’s a really bad idea for Francis, a really bad idea,” White told to Robbie Foxx of Barstool sports.
