Dana White Is Certain About Igor Severino Having “Real Problems” Over Mike Tyson-Like Move On Andre Lima at UFC Vegas 89; Fans React on Recent Axing – “No Biting.”

UFC Fight Night took an interesting turn today when newcomers Igor Severino and Andre Lima stepped inside the Octagon to lock horns against each other. The fight was a spectacle, and yet, an incident happened that took the audience as well as the UFC CEO, Dana White by surprise.

Ahead of their clash, the duo was excited to exchange blows. However, as soon as they entered, the fight turned a bit brutal and things got dirty in the second round. Beyond the hallway point of round two, Lima used the fence to subdue Severino. This act of the fighter must have irritated Severino. The Brazilian casually brushed his head to Lima’s elbow and forced Lima to protest the act.

Chris Tognoni called for a timeout and upon further inspection, it was revealed that Severino bit Lima’s biceps. The match was immediately called off and Lima got the win by way of DQ, “At one point, you saw with the elbows I was able to hit him really hard.Then you saw, he bit me. … I was going to keep damaging him” said Lima to Paul Feder.

The UFC CEO, Dana White was utterly disappointed by the act and called out Severino for his shameful act. At the presser, White said “The worst thing you can do is bite your opponent! Now you get the cut and lose the biggest opportunity of your life. Not to mention, he is going to have a real problem with the NSAC.” White was disappointed by the act, however, he was not the only one who was angered by the event. The MMA community was enraged by it as well.

The MMA community appears to be unhappy with the incident, blaming Dana White’s mismanagement for it. Some of the comments by the fans are as follows:

Starting off, a fan took a direct dig at Dana White for his commitment to bring good talents but without proper verification of the fighter.

Another fan agreed with White’s assessment and stated that Severino should be punished

“As he should. Absolutely zero excuse for that. And the guy even tried to deny it.”

Furthermore, a fan even raised doubts about the incident when he inquired, “How could he have bitten with the mouth guard on?

“How he leave top teeth marks if he had a mouth piece in?”

Mike Tyson bit one of his opponents, Evander Holyfield, and took his ear off. A fan connected the incidents and stated that people would have loved it if it would have been done by Tyson.

“Iron Mike did it and y’all loved it”

“Not excusing it, but bro was fighting dirty by grabbing the fence multiple times. Don’t fight dirty and the fight won’t get been dirtier”

Lastly, a fan even took a sarcastic dig at Dana White and his controversial stance on the payment structure for MMA fighters.

“Wow, these UFC fighters are so underpaid they are starving”
