After all of the hubbub, the UFC CEO has taken to his Instagram handle to reshare the video in his stories and captioned it as “Sorry @IliaTopuria.” Well, asking for forgiveness after such an incident moments before he faces one of the biggest challenges of his career is kind of funny but despite that, this antic showcases the drastic weight-cutting process that the fighters undergo to make sure they make weight and fight.

Dana White is not a fan of Ilia Topuria’s dual-weight champion dreams

Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev have been beefing up with one another for quite some time now. Interestingly, their feud was not limited to the lightweight king as ‘El-Matador’ has basically called out every member of ‘Team Khabib’ including the welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad. On the Ariel Helwani show, the Spanish-Georgian cleared that he has no personal bad-blood with Makhachev, rather he wants to fight him to earn double champ status. However, his dreams might not be enticing to UFC head honcho Dana White.

While having a conversation with the media, White emphasized that Topuria will have to prove himself before jumping divisions, “Before we start talking about guys moving up to other weight classes, I mean, look at Max Holloway. When he moved up, he had wiped out the entire division [and proved to be] the best 145-pounder, and then Volkanovski [did the same]. So there’s plenty of challenges [left] for him [Topuria] at 145,” said Dana White.

The fate of the 145lbs division will be forged after Max Holloway and Ilia Topuria’s match. Regardless, who do you think would emerge victorious in the bout? State your thoughts in the comments below.
