The UFC president also mentioned that the Makhachev vs Volkanovski fight will break pay-per-view records in Australia and New Zealand, previously held by one of Conor McGregor‘s fights. However, while mentioning what the fight meant for each fighter’s legacy, White stumbled to say recall the Dagestani’s name. He said, “You know when you talk about legacy, if [Alexander] Volkanovski could pull this off, it’s obviously massive, and if uh …if uh …(forgets Makhachev’s name) yeah, could pull it off, he is on his way to building an incredible legacy.”

Alexander Volkanovski will be moving up in weight to challenge for the UFC’s most stacked division’s prize. He will have the hometown advantage. But Islam Makhachev is confident that he can win the fight even if ‘The Eagle’ won’t be by his side.
