Umar Nurmagomedov seems to have waited long enough for his next UFC fight. Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s cousin recently took to Instagram to send a message to UFC CEO Dana White regarding his wish to compete inside the Octagon, claiming that he is ready to take on anyone.

Umar Nurmagomedov has been away from the Octagon for a while now. The 16-0 fighter last competed in January of this year, registering a knockout win over Raoni Barcelos. He was then scheduled to fight Cory Sandhagen in August. However, he had to pull out due to a serious shoulder injury, following which he was replaced by Rob Font. Since then, there has been no update as to when Nurmagomedov will fight next, and it seems like he doesn’t care who he fights on his return.

Umar Nurmagodeov urged Dana White to give him any opponent

Umar Nurmagomedov is relentless in his attempts to get a fight. He has constantly expressed his desire for the opportunity in several social media posts. However, this time, Khabib’s cousin took to Instagram, asking Dana White to name any available opponent. He is willing to fight anyone and has had enough of sitting on the sidelines. ” Hey [UFC] I don’t care with who. Just want to fight,” said the 27-year-old.

Dana White recently announced a few fights for UFC 299, featuring the likes of newcomer Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Petr Yan, and Ian Garry, to name a few. The UFC CEO did not say anything about Umar Nurmagomedov, which prompted the Dagestan native to send the aforementioned message to the 54-year-old promoter. This message comes in the wake of AKA coach Javier Mendez revealing that team Khabib thought Umar would be fighting at UFC 296, which did not happen. Let’s take a look at that front.

Javier Mendez mentioned Umar’s hopes for UFC 296

A few days ago, Javier Mendez posted an episode of his podcast on YouTube where he addressed the current situation with Umar Nurmagomedov. He claimed that his team believed that the 27-year-old would be making his return at UFC 296. However, that did not come to fruition. The UFC did not have any announcements for the 16-0 fighter, even after wrapping up the Leon Edwards and Colby Covington headliner.

Additionally, Mendez also revealed that Umar Nurmagomedov has not signed any kind of contract concerning his next fight. This led the AKA head coach to extend a request to Dana White. They want Khabib’s cousin’s next fight to take place before the holy month of Ramadan, which will commence on March 10th, 2024, and end on April 9th, 2024.

Despite these requests, Dana White has not issued any response to Umar Nurmagomedov and his team. Their continuous cries for a fight have gone unnoticed by the UFC CEO. We will have to wait and see how things pan out for the 27-year-old as we approach the beginning of a new year.
