The first UFC pay-per-view event of 2024 saw the crowning of two brand-new champions. Raquel Pennington defeated Mayra Bueno Silva to become the female bantamweight champion and Dricus du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland in the main event to claim the middleweight championship. However, one of the most important revelations came to the fore when Dana White revealed the situation with Conor McGregor‘s return.

Dana White didn’t confirm the June return of Conor McGregor

While answering a question about Conor McGregor’s first Hollywood movie ‘Road House’, a reporter shifted his focus to ask Dana White about Conor McGregor. When asked about the confirmation of the former double champion’s announcement about a return during International Fight Week, White appeared to have nothing to say about it. Rather, the UFC CEO assured the reporter that whenever McGregor feels like he’s ready to step in, he will make that announcement.

“No [on McGregor fighting in June]. When Conor’s ready to fight, you know we’ll announce it. That’s what we do,” Dana White told the media. “I don’t know [on McGregor’s June return being a possibility].” This UFC head honcho’s statement has put McGregor’s return in uncertainty once again. Nevertheless, the Irishman’s probable opponent, Michael Chandler, appeared to be confident when ‘The Notorious’ made that announcement. Let’s have a look at what he said earlier.

Michael Chandler confirmed some aspects of McGregor’s announcement

In a YouTube video posted a few days ago, Michael Chandler analyzed what Conor McGregor had to say in his announcement. He believes that the Irishman is right about two things regarding their fight. Firstly, Chandler is sure that he is the one who’ll welcome McGregor back into the UFC. Secondly, he also appeared to be confident about the fight taking place during International Fight Week. The only thing ‘Iron’ doesn’t believe is that the fight is going to take place at 185 lbs.

“Two truths. June 29th International Fight Week, truth. Michael Chandler, truth. Lie, 185, maybe. We don’t know,” Chandler stated. However, the 5th-ranked lightweight contender did not fail to mention that Conor McGregor can also be bluffing about it, which he has done in the past. So fans have no clue as to when Conor McGregor will make his return.
