Is Dana White willingly delaying Conor McGregor’s return?

Conor McGregor’s return ͏is not as straightforward as it may seem. The former dual-weight champion, arguably the greatest UFC star to have ever graced͏ the octagon, ͏is now st͏riving for ͏a comeback. However,͏ ‘Notorious’ is seemingly encountering resi͏st͏ance from ͏the UFC ͏administration, which appears reluctant to provide him with ͏opportunities to make ͏a return. Why is that? Per rumors, White is trying to clinch McGregor for a long-term contract but the fighter has not said anything about it.

At the UFC 298 presser, Dana White was asked about his opinion on the delay of Conor McGregor’s career delay. White had one thing to say on that matter: “Conor McGregor doesn’t need money.” White explained that McGregor at the time had not one but multiple of problems that stopped him from fighting.

“Well first problem was he broke his shin bone recovering from that. That was one of the reasons we had it and the other problem is he’s f***ing rich. Conor McGregor doesn’t need money. I don’t know. McGregor’s got a lot of money. Anytime we get McGregor, we will be happy to, you know, when he comes to fight you know.” said White at the UFC 298 presser.

Topuria wants McGregor and this is not the first time that the Spaniard has called out the Irish legend. After the victory, Topuria took center stage to issue a direct callout to McGregor when he said “And Conor McGregor, if you still have some b****, I will be waiting for you in Spain.”

At the UFC 298 presser, Topuria further doubled down on McGregor. When a reporter asked the new featherweight champion about his stance on McGregor, ‘El Matador said “Without any weight. weight limit. There is no weights if I fight. He can choose it; I give him that option. If he feels that he is ready for this level of competition, he can choose the weight. I choose the place.”

As of now, there’s no plan by the UFC to give a McGregor fight to Topuria, however, there’s a huge chance that the former dual-weight champion might have some interest in the Spanish sensation now. Nonetheless, whats your take on Topuria’s statements?
