Reigning UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou is one of the most vicious strikers in the sport. He has finished many of his opponents in the first round via some vicious punches.

Interestingly, ‘The Predator’ is also interested in another form of combat sports, i.e. boxing. Ngannou has expressed his interest in the sport many times and has talked about the same in many of his interviews. Moreover, the UFC heavyweight champion frequently gets into a verbal battle with the boxing legend Tyson Fury on the internet.

Hence, many are speculating that a high-profile boxing match between Ngannou and Fury might come to fruition in the future. However, UFC president Dana White isn’t surprised by the ongoing scenario.

Recently, White chimed in his thoughts on the ongoing boxing match’s speculations. In the UFC Vegas 46 post-fight press conference, he said, “No. Listen, man, these guys, none of these surprises me.”

“It’s like these boxing guys need guys to fight. That’s what it shows. You know what I mean? And, yeah, no, it doesn’t surprise me at all.”

In the past, there has been such a transition. For instance, the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather boxing match in 2017. Hence, this boxing match might be a possibility.

Also, ‘The Predator’ is currently having issues with the UFC regarding his contract, which leaves many UFC fans believing that the Cameroonian star might part ways with the promotion. This increases the chances of him opting for a boxing match in the future.

However, before Ngannou can make any further decisions, he has one fight left on his contract. He will soon take on his former teammate in his first title defense this month.

UFC 270: Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane

‘The Predator’ became the UFC champion in March 2021. However, he hasn’t entered the UFC octagon since winning the title due to his differences with the promotion.

However, he will soon break the hiatus and return to action this month. He will clash against the interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane inside the cage at UFC 270 on 22nd January.

The much anticipated heavyweight title fight will serve as the main event at the first pay-per-view event of the year. It has already garnered a lot of attention from the fans as both men share a past.
