Dana White Reveals Conor McGreor ‘Is Coming Into Town’ to Discuss UFC Return

2021 didn’t go as planned, for ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor. However, the brash Irish superstar is looking to change the landscapes this year. Both he and the UFC President Dana White have hinted at a summer return for the biggest name in MMA.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Dana White talked to Nik Hobbs about the immediate future of ‘The Notorious’.

The UFC President said, “When he is ready to fight, he’ll let us know. He is coming into town, I think, here in the next month, and we’re going to get together, so we’ll talk.”

“We’ll talk. It’s not even about a list. I mean, the list is right here. The top 10 guys in the world. Conor’s number nine. There’s the list.”

Though in the interview, White didn’t commit to any opponents, he recently made a statement that he would be shocked if the Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz trilogy bout doesn’t happen.

A Conor McGregor fight is a different level of spectacle. Thus, the UFC will try to put on the best and the biggest fight possible. With the Stockton native on the doorstep of free agency, it appears the UFC would definitely visit the trilogy fight. However, they have other options available if it doesn’t materialize.

Is the winner of Chandler vs Ferguson, next for Conor McGregor?

In the past, both Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson have shown interest in fighting ‘The Notorious’. Also, since McGregor suggested that he is open to fighting anybody, the winner of this UFC 274 lightweight showdown, between the #5 and #7 ranked, could be the next challenger for the Irishman.

However, as mentioned, a Nate Diaz trilogy bout is always around the corner. Thus, it would be fascinating to see which direction the UFC and Dana White decide to go with Conor McGregor.

Meanwhile, recovering from a broken foot, McGregor has started sparring for the boxing session. However, he is yet to be 100 percent fit.
