Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards might have bagged the biggest opportunity of their career, as they are prominent in the current welterweight championship scenario, per UFC chief Dana White. Both men will collide with each other at UFC 263, and the winner can be next in the line for the 170 lbs belt.

White connected with Submission Radio and discussed the relevancy of the UFC’s maiden non-title non-main event five-round fight. The UFC President said, ” Yeah, I mean Colby is the number one contender. We did the Masvidal fight, you know Usman wanted that fight back, Colby Covington is, the fight with Colby and Usman is one of the best fights I have ever seen in my life, he is the number one contender, it’s a fight to make.

He added, ” That was something that Nate Diaz, you know he likes fighting five-rounders, and yeah, this is a big fight for those guys I mean whoever wins is next after Colby.”

Can Nate Diaz Return to the win column?

Regardless of losses, Nate Diaz has always put up brilliant performances inside the cage. He has always rained his punches onto his opponents and dominated them with his aggressive fighting style.

The 36-year-old has 11 finishes via submission under his name. This would be an advantage for him in this fight as he can mount an offense off his back if ‘Rocky’ takes him down.

Leon Edwards is expected to give a tough time to Diaz inside the octagon. ‘Rocky’, currently on an eight-match win streak, will look to continue it and get the Usman rematch he desires. Hence, the aura of Nate Diaz may not bother Edwards, who will look to deny him a return to the win column.

Who do you think will win this fight and be next in line after ‘Chaos’? Let us know in the comments section below.
