The preliminary card of UFC Vegas 71 packed a lot of action. In one of the fights, Bruno Silva made his return to the octagon after almost two years. He defeated Tyson Nam via a rear-naked choke submission in under two minutes of the second round. However, he picked up an injury during the fight which has UFC president Dana White worried.

‘Bulldog’ claimed the upper hand in his fight against Tyson Nam after landing a front kick to the face of the latter and then quickly grabbed him to get into a submission position. As a result of the choke, Silva rendered Nam unconscious as the stoppage came in the second round.

The Piracicaba native is now on a three-fight winning streak after delivering a main-card-worthy performance at UFC Vegas 71 Prelims. However, he picked up a rather nasty injury on his return. Dana White was quick to share the news of this injury on Instagram.

Dana White worried about Bruno Silva’s injury

The UFC boss has witnessed some of the nastiest injuries inside the octagon. However, none of the older injuries scared him as much as Bruno Silva. ‘Bulldong’ suffered a nasty cut at the bottom of his toe. Dana White took to Instagram and posted an image of Silva’s cut. He wrote: “Out of all the cuts this one would drive me crazy.”

White also posted a follow-up image on the Brazilian’s injury and showed him getting a couple of stitches on his toe. UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, met with a similar fate against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159. ‘Bones’ won the fight in the first round itself, but found his toe severely dislocated. However, he went on to finish the fight, as the doctors tended to his injury in the aftermath. Blood spilled out of his toe, which was one of the most horrific sights in a UFC fight.

However, Silva’s injury doesn’t look as bad as Jon Jones’s injury. The news of this injury comes just hours after Nathaniel Wood posted a video of a very bloody cupping therapy. Moreover, ‘Bulldog’ recently underwent surgery for a loose ligament earlier this year. He may want to avoid any more injuries since his 3-fight win streak could probably land him in flyweight title contention.
