The UFC boss, Dana White is obviously a genius business mind. Recently, the UFC boss was overpowered by the Russia-originated game of Slap Fighting. He went on to launch his own promotion of slap fighting, known as the Power Slap League.

The Power Slap League had its first episode aired on the noted TV channel, ‘TBS’. But opposite to White’s expectation, the defenseless assault on people disgusted the majority of the audience. The noted former wrestler and neuroscientist, Chris Nowinski, also shared a few clips of the Power Slap League. His tweet evidently implied that he too was un-accepting of this mindless brutality on people.

Chris Nowinski bashed both Dana White and TBS for their inhuman venture

Nowinski’s tweet read, “This is so sad. Note the fencing posture with the first brain injury. He may never be the same. @danawhite & @TBSNetwork should be ashamed. Pure exploitation. What’s next, “Who can survive a stabbing”?”

Being a neurologist, Nowinski was disgustingly bewildered at such a show of brutality. He implied that while people like him were investing their whole lives in treating people with neurotic disorders, some others, like Dana White, were happily luring people into such severe conditions just for money.

Understandably, being an individual striving to ensure the wellness of people, the devastating slap-knockouts were pretty gruesome for Nowinski to witness.

Chris Nowinski predicted things to get even more brutal in the future

The disgust of Nowinski was quite apparent. The ending sentence of his tweet read, “What’s next, “Who can survive a stabbing”?” Nowinski apparently gave his take on what the world was going to fall for next. He definitely was against such mindless brutality for humans being given the name of sports.

He also took a jibe at all the ones who were of the opinion that the slap fighters had signed up for it. Nowinski intended to imply that even though the fighters had agreed to enter such brutality. Still, it doesn’t make it necessary for the promoters to forget the dangerous effects which might be associated with such acts of the onslaught.

He hinted that there also might be people who would sign up to “survive a stabbing” contest. But, it doesn’t mean that some rich promoter will actually organize a “survival after stabbing contest” forgetting the humane nature which we are supposed to have.

The coveted scrap between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002 was when I realized the passion for combat sports within my family. My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
