Dana White has called, and Khamzat Chimaev has answered. That’s right, the UFC head honcho has a sumptuous card lined up for the UFC’s first time going to Saudi Arabia that also includes Sharaputdin Magomedov and it will be headlined by none other than ‘Borz’ who has quietly been stalking the middleweight division.

Chimaev defeated Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 and soon, it was almost as if he had disappeared. However, he has come back now after recovering from a hand injury and reportedly being sick. Do you think you could take a guess about his next opponent?

Dana White and the UFC came out announcing that there was nothing wrong with the Saudi Arabia card after it was reportedly rejected by the higher-ups from the host country. The card, however, now looks a tad bit different with Khamzat Chimaev headlining it against none other than Robert Whittaker. Here’s what Dana White had to say.

“What’s up guys? Here with another announcement.” He started the Instagram video in his usual manner. “On Saturday, June 22nd, we’ll be going to Saudi Arabia, our first fight in the kingdom will be a Fight Night that will air live and free on ABC.”

“And the main event will be, former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker versus 13-0, undefeated, Khamzat Chimaev to see who will be the number 1 contender for the UFC middleweight championship.” White also went on to announce several other fights for the same card.

This, of course included the return of ‘Shara-Bullet’ who is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Bruno Silva and is currently, 13-0 in his professional MMA record. Now, his next opponent will be none other than Ihor Potieria who is currently 21-5 in his professional career. Interestingly, the middleweight division could see a shakeup in the coming time and Chimaev has things to say about it all.

Chimaev could take on a 185 pound Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor famously announced his next fight against Michael Chandler at 185 pounds. While the bout is yet to be made, everyone is rather understandably already talking about it. And so, Khamzat Chimaev was recently questioned about his take on it.

Could he defeat Conor McGregor? For ‘Borz’, ‘The Notorious’ is just not big enough to take on him. Chimaev believes that he’s just on a “different level” which is levels above the Irishman who has now announced a return this summer. Many were thinking about a fight between the giants but for now, it looks like far into the future for if and when McGregor actually decides to return. First, he has Chandler to deal with.
