Sports and entertainment often go hand in hand, especially when athletes make a transition into the movie biz. In the UFC, quite a few fighters have made appearances in various movies, with Conor McGregor‘s role in ‘Road House’ standing out in recent times as a credible performance. However, Dana White seems to be a hard man to please because he doesn’t think any fighter has done a good job.

During a conversation with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo on the former champions’ podcast, Pound 4 Pound, Dana White touched upon a range of topics. Among those was, of course, the desire of UFC fighters to act in movies. As the CEO shared his take, it appeared to rub Usman the wrong way because he wasn’t aware that ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had also worked as an actor.

Kamaru Usman was left speechless as Dana White had no clue about his acting career
Dana White claims that many fighters who’ve competed in the UFC, past or present, have expressed their wish to act in front of the camera. But as we’ve mentioned already, he has never been impressed with any of their acting gigs. “I have had tons of fighters try to be actors, right? And I have yet to see one of ’em that ever did a f—ing good job acting in a f—ing movie,” White confessed.
The whole room started giggling because Dana White didn’t know that Kamaru Usman had made cameos in multiple movies, including 2022’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. But the UFC head honcho had no clue. Maybe he’s not a big fan of superhero movies. When he saw Usman visibly disappointed, White admitted, “I didn’t see that movie.”

Besides the MCU appearance, Kamaru Usman has also made cameos in the Liam Neeson starrer, ‘The Naked Gun’. The former welterweight champion also made an appearance in the music video of one of Nigerian rapper Burna Boy’s songs. Well, Dana White may not be aware of his work in front of the camera, but he has always hailed Usman as one of the best fighters in UFC history. In fact, White reiterated his belief that ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is indeed the greatest 170-pounder of all time.

UFC CEO maintains his stance on Usman being the welterweight GOAT
When we talk about the GOAT conversation, Jon Jones may be the most common pick, but some argue that Georges St-Pierre is up there on the Mount Rushmore of UFC GOATs. That’s especially due to his generational run in the welterweight division, becoming a two-time champion, while winning the middleweight title in his final UFC fight.
However, Dana White has backed Kamaru Usman for a long time as the greatest welterweight, and during his recent Pound 4 Pound appearance, he stood by his claim. “You heard all the things that I said about you with your 30% comment, and now I’m sitting here today, and I’ll f—ing; whoever wants to debate it with me that you’re the greatest welterweight of all time,” the CEO told Kamaru Usman.

Picking the UFC GOAT is always a contentious issue because everybody has their opinions, and the picks differ from person to person. Kamaru Usman certainly has Dana White’s support for the career he has had as a welterweight fighter and for being a former champion. What remains to be seen now is whether he can impress his employer with his next acting gig. What do you think?
