UFC has officially cut off former lightweight contender Kevin Lee from the organization. Kevin has taken part in a whopping 18 fights since his debut back in 2014. After almost seven years with the UFC, he was abruptly released by the promotion.
The 29-year-old American welterweight seemed shocked and displeased by this decision. Kevin vocalized his disappointment while talking on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. While discussing his release, Ariel asked Lee, “Did you have any premonition, any feeling, any inkling that this was coming down, or were you completely blindsided by it”
To which the free agent replied, “You know I had a feeling once that last fight was over and it was a s**t fight you know I’m the first to admit that um but once that last fight was over and Dana was kind of talking bad on me I had a feeling like something else was going on you know I don’t think it had to do with the fight “

He further revealed, “Of course, that’s what they’re going to tell me you know I’m on a two-fight losing streak or whatever um one was to the world champion but I think there was more uh politics and stuff going on behind the scenes and I got caught in the middle of that”
The fighter further added that he had two fights left in the contract. He negotiated these new terms after his Charles Oliveira fight.
Kevin Lee had a bad ending to his UFC career. He lost 4 out of his last 5 matches before his sudden release. Although, his fight book boasts some big names like Charles Oliveira, Tony Ferguson, and Rafael dos Anjos.
