At UFC 300, anything can happen. Fans are thoroughly excited about the big pay-per-view event. But there is one man in particular who has great insight into the promotion. Chael Sonnen took to his YouTube channel to express concern over McGregor’s potential UFC 300 fight.

“Do you believe he’s(McGregor) going to come back and be anything less than a main event?” said Sonnen. “Do you think that our number 300, the headliner is not going to be a title fight?” McGregor’s beef with Michael Chandler are now well known. In fact, the fight hasn’t ever been officially booked. So the fans too are forced to ask, will the fight ever really come to fruition?

On the other hand, rumors regarding big fighters returning to the cage are also widely afloat. Sonnen had big things to say about some of them as well. If Sonnen was to be believed, he had heard that Georges St-Pierre would be going up against Nick Diaz in a big card fight at UFC 300. So what did Sonnen say about that?

“When you talk about that (GSP vs Diaz part 2), if both aren’t going to return, if both aren’t going to take on a meaningful schedule, if both are not trying to get their names back out there and break back into the rankings in a pursuit ultimately to get to a title shot . . .If that is not on the board, and that is no longer possible they are not getting booked.” Sonnen is pretty much on point with his opinion. Very little stakes mean there’s very little to come back for. Do you think the two legends will ever lock horns again? What do you make of his comments regarding McGregor’s potential UFC 300 return?
