Dana White has always been a fighter—not just inside the UFC but against critics, government interference, and corporate bureaucracy. So, when he sees someone else taking on powerful institutions, he pays attention. And in White’s eyes, no one is doing that better than Elon Musk.

Musk, now a special government employee under the Trump administration, has positioned himself as a disruptor, challenging federal bureaucracy and reshaping Silicon Valley’s power dynamics. In a recent conversation with Tucker Carlson, the UFC CEO didn’t just praise Musk; he called him a “superhero” and urged others, including Mark Zuckerberg, to follow his lead.

Dana White reveals struggles before Elon Musk set an example

During an appearance on ‘The Tucker Carlson Show’, the UFC head honcho was asked about the government pressures on tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta and Google. Carlson wondered if these companies would hold the line on free speech in the coming years.

White’s answer was quick and confident as he stated, “I think they will for the next 4 years. I think they will for the next 4 years. I think you see them all except for Elon. I mean, let’s be honest. Elon was a superhero through this whole…”

To White, Musk’s purchase of X (formerly Twitter) wasn’t just a business move. It was a stand—a declaration against the hidden forces shaping public discourse. And in doing so, Musk didn’t just shake up Silicon Valley; he made others bolder.

According to White, “The fact that he would go in and spend the kind of money that he did to, to buy that thing, basically, just to find out what went on. I mean, he is literally a superhero in this country right now as far as I’m concerned. And, I think what he did also made a lot of people in that field, I guess I’d say, braver and say, you know what? This we should follow his lead.”

White shared, “When the Obama administration was in, they came after us for being a monopoly. So we bought this company that was bankrupt, turning it around, creating jobs, and all these other things, and we got the government. We had we had to spend, like, 8 or $9,000,000 at that time to defend ourself against a monopoly suit from the government.”

At the moment, Elon Musk is heading a cost-cutting initiative that has been dubbed the ‘Department of Government Efficiency’. According to a New York Times report, the tech mogul has already aimed his crosshairs at federal bureaucracy and programs like U.S.A.I.D.

So, whether it’s against government inefficiency or rival tech giants, Elon Musk isn’t backing down from a fight. However, in the interview with Carlson, Dana White also revealed that an MMA fight between two of the world’s richest men was closer to becoming a reality than many realize!

In 2023, when Elon Musk fired the first shot, calling out Mark Zuckerberg for a cage fight, Dana White’s business instincts kicked in. Speaking to Tucker Carlson, White confessed, “I walked away from that first meeting liking Mark [Zuckerberg]. We started to create a relationship from there. We talked and you know, he’s a UFC fan and we became friends, and then the whole Elon vs Mark Zuckerberg fight thing that was going at that time”

White was all in as he revealed that he was deeply involved in the negotiations for the spectacle that he confirmed was indeed a “real” plan and not just smoke and mirrors. As if the concept of two billionaires fighting wasn’t dramatic enough, the venue talks took an even wilder turn. Forget the Octagon—Italy’s Colosseum entered the conversation. Yes, the same ancient battleground where gladiators once fought for their lives and to entertain the citizens.

The UFC boss further shared that, “For the right number, the Colosseum was going to let us do that fight there, and then, eventually, you know, it started to fall apart.”

Still, the fight Elon Musk is engaged in now is far from over. Whether taking on government inefficiency, corporate control over free speech, or even rival billionaires, he continues to make waves. And with Dana White cheering him on, one thing is clear—Musk isn’t backing down anytime soon. What do you think about the tech mogul’s newest arena in the government?
