Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler‘s fight is in the doldrums. The duo has been waiting for a confirmation for months now and despite back and forth between the two, no real confirmation has arrived either from the UFC, or its head honcho. And despite multiple “comeback updates” from McGregor himself, a new slip-up from a UFC fighter has the fans’ hopes up, not before poking a little fun of course.

Just days ago, Conor McGregor commented that he would be facing Chandler by the end of the summer, and seems like that is going to be the case according to UFC’s flyweight fighter, Cody Druden. Druden is slated to face Carlos Hernandez at the UFC 303. The fighter excitingly announced his fight, however, he might have overstepped in announcing another fight as well.

Earlier McGregor announced that he would be facing Chandler at the international fight week back on New Year’s Eve. However, it was later disregarded by Dana White who proclaimed that they would let the world know when McGregor gets ready to step into the Octagon again.

“What’s up, fight fans? I’m back in the octagon on June 29 versus Carlos Hernandez. UFC 303,” said Durden. “Michael Chandler versus the Notorious Conor McGregor. Let’s go, baby.” The video sparked a combination of reactions from the MMA community. While most of the fans took it lightly because unless it is done by Dana White, no leaks have authenticity.

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight soon?

In response to Durden’s claims, MMA enthusiasts investigated his assertions but found no evidence of videos where White confirmed the date. Some of the comments by the fans are as follows:-

Dana White must have hidden it from the world to release it at the perfect time and Durden’s revelation must have worked against his plans. A fan capitalized on it and stated that White would remove Durden from the roster, of course, it was just a joke.

Furthermore, another fan stated that White would not be happy with it.

“Bro is about to be dropped like a hot rock Dana won’t be happy”

And one even indicated that Druden might be off the list of White’s favors!

“There goes any fight bonus”

Moreover, a fan quoted that it was not a revelation when McGregor himself announced the fight earlier.

“McGregor and Chandler are supposed to fight, so no, it’s not a leak… We all knew they were going to fight after TUF, and also, McGregor announcing it on NYE”

Furthermore, another fan highlighted the same thing.

“It really ain’t a leak if conor already said that date lmao”

Last but not least, a fan stated that nothing can be believed unless it comes from Dana White

“As long as @danawhite didn’t post it they’re ain’t no leak”

From the reactions of the fans, they are clearly not in the mood to believe any leaks. There have been rumors about their match since last year and the MMA community seems to be fed up with random data but no confirmation.
