When we talk about Dana White going viral on social media, what comes to your mind? Perhaps a meme-worthy moment or maybe another explosive rant about someone who isn’t in his good books. However, the UFC CEO recently garnered attention for a charitable act that he did back in 2010, and has apparently won the fans over, as they compared him to two of the biggest celebrities who are known for their charitable work.

Yes, back in 2010, Dana White was randomly browsing on the internet when he came across the news about a Muay Thai coach. The 56-year-old revealed the details of this incident during an interview last year, claiming that the coach’s daughter needed a heart transplant. The news moved him, and he pulled out all the stops to make sure that the little girl lives by shelling out $50,000.

“His daughter was dying because she needed some type of heart surgery, and she was gonna die in the next several days, if she didn’t get the money,” Dana White stated on the In Search of Excellence podcast. “And was gonna be $50,000, and the guy was like, ‘Dana White, you need to f—ng put this money up right now, donate it to her, you f—ing bet this much playing blackjack, blah, blah, blah, blah’, basically coming at me like that.”

Well, this vital $50,000 donation popped up in a Reddit post, and fans gave their blunt response to it. It was in favor of Dana White, as Dwayne Johnson and Mr.Beast got dragged into it as well. Here’s what the fans had to say.

Fans hail Dana White over Dwayne Johnson and Mr.Beast

Dana White has garnered a lot of positive reactions for his 2010 donation, which did not really make the news. Fans claimed that this act felt genuine because it was not captured on camera, unlike Dwayne Johnson and YouTube king Mr.Beast, who’ve spent millions and millions in donations and charity but carry a camera everywhere they go. “It’s hilarious how people give this guy s–t for not making his charity a public spectacle. Charity done in discreet feels so much more genuine than charity done when it’s in front of 5 varying camera angles like the Rock and Mr beast,” a fan stated.

Moreover, one fan also mentioned that the backlash Dana White faced amid Ben Askren’s medical issues wasn’t justified because he did contribute money for the former UFC fighter’s double-lung transplant. “Dana white paid for Ben askrens transplant and let Jake and the rest of the internet clown him for not doing so, cuz Dana didn’t want to publicize it,” that fan wrote on Reddit. The fans also took shots at the negative nancies, so to speak, who love nothing more than to just hate someone for one reason or the other. “And the idiots in this sub will still talk like this man is the worst human ever. Mofos just want to hate just to hate.”

Then again, another fan mentioned that some people may hate Dana White, but do not stop watching the fights that he puts out throughout the year. He even clapped back at the illegal streaming link creators, writing, “People talk bad about this dude on here while simultaneously enjoying a product he helped create, and will proudly steal said product while this guy gives away more money than they’ll probably make in their entire lives.”

It seems like there were some Dana White haters who commented on the Reddit post, too. They pointed out the UFC fighter pay issues and how one single charitable act doesn’t necessarily mean that the UFC CEO is what people are starting to believe after learning about the $50k donation. That fan said, “If rob billions from the poor and spend a couple of million for good causes, does that make me a good person?” Meanwhile, a Reddit user came out to claim that Dana White faces certain issues because “he’s loyal to a fault.”

Well, Dana White has continued to do charity and help the people as much as he can, but do you think the comparison with Dwayne Johnson and Mr.Beast is valid? Drop your comments below.
