Ian Garry doubles down on his matchup against Colby Covington

Colby Covington lost his title shot against Leon Edwards at UFC 296. His performance was lackluster and the MMA community commanded that ‘Chaos should not be given any title shots any time soon, especially considering the fact that he lost 3 title shots in a row. ‘Chaos’ made harsh comments against Ian Garry upon learning about Garry’s wife’s controversial book. However, Garry maintained his silence. But now, it appears that ‘The Future’ has finally retaliated after months.

In his latest escapade, Garry emphasized why he is a better matchup for Covington than any other fighter in the welterweight division. “He’s not gonna fight Shavkat [Rakhmonov]; he’s not gonna fight Belal [Muhammad] because they are all terrible matches for him. Because I’m a striker at heart, striker versus wrestler makes sense. I’ve also not been tested against an elite American wrestler in the division. So, give me the guy who I could be the best at; let me show the world how much better I am than him,” said Garry at TheMMAHour.

He further explained that Dana White might not give Covington many chances or let him do as he pleases, stating, “And I just know that there is not a bigger matchup for him to take. There is no bigger paycheck for him to get at the moment because I am the biggest name he can compete against. And I think that, said and done, he’s also not in a position where he gets to turn down fights anyway. You take what you’re given or you don’t fight at all.”

The time when Covington went all out on Ian Garry

After getting to know about Layla Machado’s book and Ian Garry’s controversy, Covington went all out to call out Garry. ‘Chaos’ deemed Garry a ‘Cu**’. In a separate interview with Tucker Carlson after his fight against Edwards, Covington stated, “He [Ian Garry] is a legitimate cu*k. I have called them out for that. So a cu*k is someone who sits in a room and watches their spouse get a s*xual arousal from someone else.”

He further added “I found out that this has happened. The girl was selling a book called ‘WAG’, which means wife and girlfriend. So she was like promoting that you know, she had a boyfriend and she had a husband.” Several fighters ripped into Garry but Covington wrecked him to the core.
