Colby Covington is recently coming off a unanimous decision victory against his bitter rival Jorge Masvidal. In the build-up to the fight, Covington said some nasty and unruly things to Masvidal. Covington took digs at Masvidal’s family and kids, which were not appreciated by many fight fans, including the UFC President Dana White.

“I agree with that, too. It’s called man code. You either have it or you don’t,” said White on Covington, crossing the line when he spoke about his opponent’s kids.

This is not the first time Dana White has slammed a UFC fighter about breaking a ‘man code.’ The former double champion, Conor McGregor, was also once on the receiving end of similar comments made by White.

Dana White and Conor McGregor’s ‘Man Code’ scuffle

On the 25th of September, 2020, Conor McGregor released a screenshot of a private conversation he had with Dana White, out to the public via Twitter. He put it out as a message to Diego Sanchez. However, it didn’t sit very well with the UFC president, Dana White.

White appeared in the UFC 253 post-fight interview and questioned Conor’s ‘man code’ in front of the media.

He said,” I mean everybody here knows, even the ladies, this is some man code stuff. It’s just something you don’t do… It’s one of the dirtiest things you can do, which, by the way, because we were just talking about Diego Sanchez and Diego Sanchez is in there in a private conversation I was having with Conor. “

However, the scuffle didn’t stop at this. McGregor seemed furious when he heard this and accused Dana White of breaking the ‘code.’ McGregor put out a Tweet where he accused Dana White of lying to the media, and McGregor slammed him on social media.

The two have come a long way from this and have now resolved their relationship with each other. Conor is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the UFC and is also their biggest cash cow.
