White saved Pyfer’s life

Joe Pyfer made it through the Contender Series in July 2022. This was his second attempt at trying to secure a contract with the UFC. Except this time, Dana White was impressed enough to not only give him a contract but also help him with his living situation.

Pyfer was in a difficult spot. He was about to be evicted from his then living quarters and once Dana White found out, he made sure the fighter didn’t become homeless. He gave him more money on top of his win bonus and ensured him that he’ll remain housed for the rest of the year.

“Joe Pyfer, when I left the press conference that night, told me that he was about to be homeless. So — that ain’t gonna happen.” White said in a conference. The big help was enough to boost Pyfer’s performance for the next two fights that he would win but now, his loss to Hermansson has come as a bitter turn of events. Will he be able to bounce back?
