The UFC has arguably some of the best commentary personalities in MMA. The commentary team for UFC Vegas 85 comprised of former UFC double champ, Daniel Cormier, and UFC commentators Laura Sanko and John Gooden.

The commentary booth had some pretty interesting moments to talk about during the UFC Vegas 85 event. From Moicano’s iconic post-fight interview to the main event clash between fighter, Nassourdine Imavov, and opponent’s cornerman, Chris Curtis the event was unique in many ways. However, there was one moment between the commentators that was overlooked.

Laura Sanko counters Daniel Cormier’s underhook

During the opening of the show, former UFC double champ Daniel Cormier and Laura Sanko had a hilarious exchange. Sanko went in to grab DC but was met with an underhook by the UFC legend. However, the crafty UFC commentator countered with a Whizzer kick.

Sanko obviously seemed proud of the exchange as countering a former Olympic wrestler, let alone a UFC legend. She posted a reel on her Instagram page with a text that wrote, “DC LOOKING FOR THAT UNDERHOOK BUT HAD THE WHIZZER KICK AT THE READY IN HEELS.”

The reel also had a caption where she revealed how much she enjoyed commenting on the event and even gave a shoutout to Moicano’s post-fight announcement. In the caption, she wrote, “Only @dc_mma (Daniel Cormier) would start to dig an underhook during a show open Had so much fun last night calling fights with DC and @johngoodenuk (John Gooden)! These guys make coming to work so much fun and they elevate me every single time. What moment stood out for you last night? @renato_moicano_ufc (Renato Moicano) post fight speech for me.”

The UFC Vegas 85 event was certainly a hidden gem as it exceeded all expectations. Moicano’s post-fight speech is the cherry on top. But what did the Brazilian say in his post-fight interview?

Moicano’s iconic post-fight interview at UFC Vegas 85

There’s a reason why Lauro Sanko claimed that Renato Moicano’s interview stood out for her at the event. The Brazilian went on to give one of the most entertaining post-fight interviews in current times. In the interview with Cormier, he said, “Can I talk to you for a little bit? My father is 62 years old and he had a baby yesterday, so bora papa, eu te amo seu filho da p*ta (Which in English translates to, “let’s go dad, I love you, you son of a b*tch”)”

He went on to hilariously claim that he would try for another child with his wife after he returned. He also expressed his plans of joining the men in blue shirts after he was done with the sport to take down “bad guys,” and among all that, he also found the time to take a jab at an MMA content creator for picking him to lose his fight against Drew Dober.
