Daniel Cormier Makes Shocking Remarks on Khamzat Chimaev-Darren Till, Wants the Chechen to Carry Cactus Jack-Esque Persona

Khamzat Chimaev has made a name for himself in the sport with his flawless performances and emphatic finishes. He became the #11 in the UFC welterweight division and is only getting better with each fight. Chimaev is set to fight Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 in Jacksonville, Florida on April 9.

Fans are speculating a title shot for him soon if he continues his streak. A win over Burns can be the final stepping stone in his bid to reach the top of the division. He also has fans in the promotion who wish the best for him and keep advising him on every step.

Recently, former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier discussed Chimaev in an interview and held him in high regard. However, he also suggested ‘Borz’ keep a secretive identity, comparing him to WWE legend Mick Foley.

Cormier told MMAFightingonSBN, “Mankind was from parts unknown. I’m like ‘Where’s this dude from?’ Even though I knew it was Cactus Jack. I knew it was Cactus Jack. I knew underneath that there was Cactus Jack. It was like, what is this?”

“Like it’s like Khamzat. There’s like so many questions. And every time he comes, he comes in, he dominates, he’s gone,” he added.

However, he disapproved of Chimaev to maintain a close relationship with British UFC fighter Darren Till. Till and Chimaev are the latest bromance of UFC and have gained a lot of fans for their wholesome moments together.

According to ‘DC,’ Chimaev needs to stay out of the limelight, and his friendship with Till isn’t allowing that. He stated, “Now, I love the whole buddy-buddy thing with Darren Till. I think it’s a mistake. I think he should continue to be a mystery to people. “

“I think he should spend as less little time in front of the public and showing who he is, pulling the curtain back. I’d pull the curtain back as little as I could if I’m Khamzat. Just because the mystery is good for him. Um… but yes, he’s very scary.” – Cormier added.

Khamzat Chimaev (10-0) has finished all his opponents so far. But he still has his detractors who believe he is yet to fight a top fighter in UFC. However, the debate might end in the next weekend if he extends his streak.

Khamzat Chimaev expects a title shot next

‘Borz’ is currently on a four-fight winning streak in the UFC and is looking to extend it to five after his fight with Gilbert Burns. ‘Durinho’ might be the biggest fight of Chimaev’s career, and might propel him into superstardom.

Keeping the speculation aside, Chimaev actually believes that a title shot might be next for him. ‘Borz’ recently revealed the conversation he had with UFC president Dana White about a potential title shot.

On ‘The Triple C and Schmo’ show, Chimaev said, “Me and him was a meeting with Dana a couple of days ago… He said after that fight, people want to see you on the for the title. I said… let’s go. I’m ready for, I think it’s mine next, because in like out 10 fights, 10 finishes and I this guy gonna take his head is over.”

‘Borz’ is confident of getting a win at UFC 273 over #2 welterweight Gilbert Burns. However, it will be a difficult fight with ‘Durinho’, who has won seven out of his last eight fights.
