Daniel Cormier Says He Was a Hater When Tyron Woodley Fought Jake Paul for the First Time.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, explaining his thoughts on Tyron Woodley getting the rematch with Jake paul. Before the first fight, Paul challenged Woodley to a bet at a press conference. The bet was, if the ‘Chosen One’ lost the fight, he would have to get an “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo on his body.

Paul won the fight by a close split decision victory. In the post-fight interviews, Tyron renegotiated the bet to where he would get the rematch if he got the tattoo. Jake agreed to this, and they shook hands in the center of the ring.

Woodley would get the tattoo on his middle finger. People were disappointed and upset with Woodley for getting the tattoo. Especially since after he got it, Paul announced he’d be fighting Tommy Fury. UFC veteran and future ‘Hall of Famer’ Daniel Cormier was one of those people who vehemently opposed Woodley getting the tattoo.

Cormier addressed his stance in the video saying, “At times, when this whole Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul thing was going on I may have come off as a bit of a hater because I didn’t want T-Wood to get the tattoo, I didn’t like the way the rematch was asked for, but guess what? It actually worked.”

Cormier further complimented Woodley by saying, “He stayed the course, he believed in himself, he believed in what could happen potentially for him, and now he finds himself right on the cusp of another massive payday.” The former welterweight champ now is set to take on Jake paul In a rematch on December 18th at the Amalie Arena.

Daniel Cormier sends a message to Tyron Woodley

Along with congratulating Tyron Woodley, ‘DC’ also sent him a message of encouragement. He said, “Now you’ve got to actually go put it on the dude. You can not go and stand in front of him anymore. You felt what he had. You know that you can hurt him. It’s a matter of Tyron going out there and implementing his game plan.”

The ‘Chosen One’ seemed a little timid in his last showing. His output of punches was low, and he seemed hesitant in certain exchanges. However, when he engaged aggressively, he had success.
