The former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is arguably one of the best fighters on the roster right now. The Brazilian sensation has completely dominated anyone he’s faced in the octagon recently and is on an impressive win streak.
Oliveira has smashed multiple records during his stint. He holds the record for the longest win streak at 155 lbs, the most finishes, and the most submission wins in the promotion.

After dominating some of the deadliest fighters in the UFC, the former champion is now pushing for the biggest fight he could land. Oliveira has been constantly taking shots at Conor McGregor and has been trying to land a fight with him. After his win against Justin Gaethje, he started landing jabs at McGregor, however; the Irishman shut him down at that time.
Albeit, McGregor was the first to call him out after his win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 269.
Now, Oliveira took to Instagram again and shared a piece of artwork that takes another shot at ‘ The Notorious.’ He shared a post made by the Brazilian artist, Donizette Ferrao, which depicted a Star Wars-themed scenario of McGregor, himself, and Dana White. With McGregor wearing the Darth Vader suit, Dana White as Darth Sidious, and Oliveira as Luke Skywalker.

The piece of artwork depicts an interesting narrative. It shows Conor McGregor as Darth Vader, which is the ‘dark side’ of the Star Wars story. Prior to being dark, Darth Vader was actually a part of the light side and was turned into Vader by Darth Sidious, who is depicted in the artwork as Dana White. Charles Oliveira shows the ‘light’ side and has the title tied to his waist in the picture.
Will we get to see Conor McGregor vs Charles Oliveira on the Irishman’s return?
Conor McGregor is currently recovering from a horrible leg injury he incurred in his bout against Dustin Poirier. Currently, the former double champion is waiting on some CT scan results which will decide when he can start kicking again. In an interview, he claimed that his career was far from over, and was in fact just beginning.
Many fighters are pushing to land Conor McGregor as their next opponent. Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz, and Michael Chandler are all pushing to land that money fight.

Even though Charles Oliveira is trying to land a fight against Conor McGregor, he is the least likely to land it compared to the other fighters trying to do the same. This is because McGregor will be cutting to welterweight, judging from all his call-outs and his current size, and also the fact that Oliveira is not a great promoter, like the others in the race would be.
On the contrary, Oliveira is on an unstoppable win streak, whereas the Irishman has not won a fight since he took on Donald Cerrone. Taking the Oliveira fight right now would not be the wisest decision for Conor. Judging by how he’s shutting Oliveira down, it seems like he knows this too.
