Why has GSP excluded Khabib from his list of potential opponents
While talking to Helwani about his upcoming bout, the UFC veteran voiced his passion for the sport. He said, “The thing is – I love Jiu-Jitsu. I love grappling.” While discussing Nurmagomedov as an opponent, the former two-weight champion said, “His name was not in the list.”

GSP went on to express uncertainty regarding Khabib’s availability. The UFC veteran added, “I’m not sure if he is still in the circuit [of MMA].” This sudden twist is sure to leave fans wondering about the future prospects of a dream fight between “Rush” and “The Eagle.” That being said, fans are still holding out for a potential blockbuster exhibition match between the two GOATs of their respective divisions. Khabib is not likely to return from his retirement from MMA as witnessed by Dana White’s multiple attempts to lure him back. He retired after the passing of his father on his mother’s wishes and it’s likely he’ll stick by his actions. However, his father’s love for GSP and his immense respect for the former two-division champ may just prove too tempting to pass up.
