At the main event of UFC 294, Alexander Volkanovski found himself on the receiving end of an ill-fated head kick that knocked him out. Despite the upset, the Aussie has garnered some support, one of them being the heavyweight boxing king, Tyson Fury.

For those unaware, this wasn’t the first time he collided with Islam Makhachev, with their first encounter taking place back in March of this year. However, unlike that encounter, this one ended much faster and in a much more one-sided way. For Volkanovski, this means his hopes of becoming a two-division champion have been put on hold, at least for now. And to cope with these tough times, Tyson Fury has a message for the former pound-for-pound king.

After standing at the zenith of the heavyweight rankings for a while now, Tyson Fury is the heavyweight king of this generation. Coming off a dominant win over Derek Chisora, the ‘Gypsy King’ is all set to trade blows with the former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. No doubt, Fury must be keeping his training on point. But it looks like that isn’t the only thing the Brit has been doing.

In one of his recent interviews, the heavyweight champion revealed that he saw the main event of UFC 294. Later, the fighter also expressed his motivation for the UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, who faced disappointment in his two-division ambitions. According to the former English national champion, the lack of a full training camp before the fight might be the reason behind this upset for ‘Volk.’

Nonetheless, the boxer is all motivation for the pound-for-pound king. “He’s a very good professional athlete, and you win some, you lose some. Dust yourself off, get back in there, and kick a*s,” said Fury. For those unaware, the super heavyweight is no stranger to the mental struggles that athletes in combat go through. Many are aware of his mental crisis following his victory over Wladimir Klitschko. And this advice for Volkanovski clearly shows his empathy for him. However, not everyone is lucky enough to get such kindness from Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury Lashes Out at ‘Begging’ Anthony Joshua

Recently, Tyson Fury has lashed out at ‘begging’ Anthony Joshua. This isn’t the first time that the ‘Gypsy King’ has gone all out on his compatriot. But this time, the reason isn’t Joshua’s in-ring skills; rather, Fury has criticized ‘AJ’ for not signing the proposed bout with Fury’s former rival, Deontay Wilder. For those wondering, the two Titans are expected to lock horns soon in a mega fight.

But, to date, the fight remains a proposal. According to many, the reason for this delay is Anthony Joshua. Reportedly, the Golden Boy star wants this fight to be on the same card as Fury’s mega-fight with Oleksandr Usyk. This is the reason for Fury’s criticism. Will Joshua get his wishes granted? Only time will tell. But for now, Alexander Volkanovski seems to have received some wise advice from ‘AJ’s rival.
