Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker is one of the most exciting sluggers in the lightweight division of the UFC. He puts up violent performances when he steps inside the cage, as evident from his last few outings. Some fan-favorite performances of his came against Dustin Poirier and Paul Felder, which were both nominated for Fight of the Year. However, this year, ‘The Hangman’ hasn’t had the best luck with keeping fit.

Hooker has had to pull out from fights due to injuries multiple times in 2023. The Kiwi had to pull out from UFC 285 against Jalin Turner due to a broken hand. But he came back and won a decision victory over Turner at UFC 290. He was scheduled to fight Bobby Green on the 2nd of December at UFC Fight Night: Dariush vs Tsarukyan, but, pulled out again due to another injury. Shortly after, ‘The Hangman’ underwent surgery and posted an update on his social media.

Dan Hooker, being the savage that he is, is well known for taking up all sorts of challenges. Be it on short notice or with a full camp, Hooker will never back away from a fight. ‘The Hangman’ has been recovering from an injury caused during the fight with Turner at UFC 290. Taking up a fight this early against Bobby Green was not a wise decision, as he would learn with the injury repeating.

He took to Twitter (X) to share an update after the surgery. ‘The Hangman’ looked as optimistic as ever and briefed the fans about his recovery. As a fighter, it’s not uncommon to get patched up after fights. However, Hooker looked happy and eager to return to the cage in the picture.

Hooker played a massive role in City Kickboxing and is loved and respected by fellow fighters training in the Gym. Israel Adesanya, who is Hooker’s long-time training partner and friend, calls Hooker a “psycho”. And we can kind of see why Adesanya calls him that. The fans took to Twitter to comment on the post.
