UFC flyweight champion, Brandon Moreno, will return to action at UFC 269 for his first title defense. While many thought it will be Alexandre Pantoja to challenge Moreno, it’s the former champion Deiveson Figueiredo who gets his shot to get his belt back immediately. The duo will collide for the third time in 12 months.

The card already has a title fight as Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight belt against and Julianna Pena. Apart from that, Cody Garbrandt will make his debut at the 125 lbs division against Kai Kara-France.

The pay-per-view card will take place on December 11. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto first reported about the flyweight title fight being confirmed for the date. Also, Charles Oliveira is expected to defend his lightweight belt for the first time against Dustin Poirier in the card’s headliner. But, the UFC has made yet no official announcement of that bout.

While the first fight was a razor-close affair between the duo, Moreno shocked the world when he defeated Figueiredo in the rematch. ‘The Assassin Baby’ completely dominated the second contest before eventually earning a submission win.

But, ‘Deus da Guerra’ has since implied that he will perform a lot better when he eventually gets his shot at Moreno. Many believed it was a bad night out for the former champion. Whether that was indeed the case remains to be seen.
