Brandon Moreno fought Kai Kara-France at UFC 277 in an interim UFC flyweight title bout. Although ‘The Assassin Baby’ won, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan grabbed headlines and came under fire. Why? During the PPV, he branded the co-main event as ‘the world title fight,’ and said current flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo won’t compete again in the 125-pound division.

Given his UFC experience, 54-year-old Joe Rogan never holds back when giving his opinion about a fighter or a fight. But every once in a while, this sees the UFC commentator receive backlash.

Something similar happened today at UFC 277. While talking about the co-main event during the preliminary broadcast of the event, Rogan said, I don’t think we’re ever going to see Deiveson Figueiredo down at 125 again, and I think those two gentlemen, there’s a real good argument that Moreno won that last fight as well. So that is, in my opinion, that’s the world title fight right there.”

Despite the fact that Rogan’s viewpoint offended many people, champion Figueiredo seemed less bothered by it. I am gonna have to step into the octagon, go into the arena and look for Joe Rogan’s crystal ball,” he jokingly said (via a translator) during a media interaction.

“I’m gonna show it to him. Maybe this could be a little friendly wager. I’m going to make weight and I am gonna show it to him. And I’m gonna just basically tell him what’s really gonna happen.”
