The knockout king of the UFC, Derrick Lewis, details what he will do if he ever fights for the heavyweight strap again.
‘The Black beast’ is one of the most entertaining fighters in all of UFC and especially in the power-packed heavyweight division of the promotion.

In a recent interview, Lewis asserted that he won’t be fighting in five-round matches. However, if he was to make a return to title contention, and go into the championship rounds, it won’t be at his current walking weight.
“Naah! Five-round fights, five rounds. If they make it a three-round fight title fight, I am all in. I am sorry, man. If I lose some weight, then, yeah, I’ll fight for the title. But I don’t wanna fight for the title while I am walking around 285,” Lewis told Brian Campbell of Morning Kombat about his walking weight.

Lewis, who is coming out of a victory over ranked heavyweight Chris Daukaus at UFC Fight Night 199, has fought for the title before with Daniel Cormier at UFC 230. However, he fell short of winning the title as ‘DC’ submitted him in the second round of the bout with a rear-naked choke.
The knockout king did make a return to title contention. But he met the same fate again as #1 contender Ciryl Gane knocked him out at UFC 265.
Now, he still is one of the highest-ranked fighters on the heavyweight charts. But he finds his peace in lower-ranked opponents, against whom he only needs to pass three rounds.

In the same interview, Lewis introduced a new scheme to make an even better celebration than his UFC 271 opponent, Tai Tuivasa’s ‘Shoey’.

And his outrageous claim was drinking beer out of his protective cup. “I can’t do nothing like that. Nah. I’d say I’d take my cup off and drink beer out of that. That’s as far as I would go,” Lewis joked to Morning Kombat host.
